YCET celebrated 7th International Day of Yoga with the enthusiastic participation ofManagement and Faculty members of all departments, in collaboration with Bhartiya Yog Sansthan (BYS) on Zoom Platform. Every year YCET celebrates Yoga day with the belief “Yoga for All, All for Yoga” as quoted by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. The program was organized to spread awareness of Yoga in all aspects, both for the uninitiated as well as for the Practioner’s. We aimed our day with the theme as stated for the year 2021 i.e. “Yoga with wellness” were Dr. Ranjana Verma, District Sangthan Mantri BYS was the session expert along with Smt. Seema Jamwal, Zonal Pradhan Mahila Adhikari & Smt. Sushma Singh, MahilaAdhikari. Director YCET, Dr. Anoop Kumar Srivastava, welcomed the guests and recited that yoga is not an exercise but a way to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world, and nature. The program was initiated by Dr. Ranjana Verma, who in her welcome remarks highlighted the Indian Origin of Yoga, a word that originated from the root word “Yuja” which basically means to bind, to align, and to hold. Smt. Seema Jamwal demonstrated various asana and warm-up exercises were taken and all the staff members performed sitting and standing asana with great zeal and enthusiasm. The importance of these exercises was explained simultaneously by Smt. Sushma Singh further added that Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition, it embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. Adding baseline to a session, Er. Neeraj Pandita, HoD Mechanical Engg, YCET pointed that”Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique- such as mindfulness or focusing their mind on a particular object, thought or activity-to train attention & awareness, followed byOmkar chanting”. Management of YCET congratulated the Mechanical department for organizing such an event which is the need of an hour in today’s lifestyle which has changed drastically over decades. The session lasted for one hour and concluded with the synchronized recitation of shlokas. The thanking address was given by Er. K.R. Sharma, Faculty Mech. Dept, YCET, and it was indeed an energizing experience for one and all.
