Computer Science Engineering

Computer Programming Lab

Computer Programming Lab is a learning setup focusing on development of the program in high level language and translation into machine level language. Computer Programming lab is a hands-on project and assignment-based learning space where students will gain strong practical and technical skills in various programming languages including C, Python and Java, UNIX/Linux: shell, tools, utilities and programming environments, user interfaces, and software engineering principles. The interactive experiments in this lab will give the students an opportunity for learning and better understanding of the basic concepts and constructs of computer programming as well as advanced methodology concepts like Deep learning, Big data Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Intelligence etc.

Objectives: To introduce students to the basic knowledge of programming fundamentals of different programming languages like C, Python, and Java etc. as well as advanced programming concepts required for cutting edge programming needs towards Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence etc.

Data Structure Lab

Data Structures laboratory is used to provide the students the knowledge about Data Structures, Applications of data structures, Problem solving using data structure tools and Techniques .Students are made familiar with C programming and its applications. Access to both offline and online Internet services is available. It provides modern computational and research facilities to students.

Data Structures laboratory provides a wide approach in C programming and enables to apply knowledge in Artificial Intelligence. Guidance’s are provided to the students by a team of faculty experts and lab programmer. The lab is used to train the students to improve their programming knowledge and make experiments to get familiar with the Core Courses.

Computer Networking Lab

Computer Networking Lab is dedicated for students to work on practical experiments, projects and research work related to courses such as Computer Networks, Wireless Networks, Mobile Communications, Software-Defined Networking, Internet of Things, Future Networks (5G) and Cloud Computing. All Desktops/Laptops in the Computer Network lab are interconnected through LAN and Wi-Fi.

Computer Graphics Lab

Computer Graphics Lab aims at providing students the knowledge about the Java and Network Environment. Students are made familiar with C, C++, Java and Networking. It provides modern computational and research facilities to B.E. Students.

Guidance are provided to the students by a team of faculty experts and lab programmer. The lab is used to train the students to improve their programming knowledge and make experiments.

Computer Hardware Lab

Hardware lab is a major part of Computer Engineering Degree program. Herein Hardware lab of computer engineering degree course, you get knowledge and working environment about the hardware devices used in the computer like motherboard, RAM, Processor, SMPS and Printers etc.

The main objective of Computer Hardware Lab is to provide the students the knowledge of computer hardware, the processors, memories, motherboards, different add-on cards, and other peripherals like printers, plotters and the scanners. The students are trained for the assembly and disassembly of PCs. Another important objective is to impart knowledge about the troubleshooting and fault finding the computers and the peripherals.

YCET Jammu provides students with various Computer Facilities which include Email, Web Browsing, File Storage etc.

Virtual Lab

Virtual labs are interactive, digital simulations of activities that typically take place in physical laboratory settings. Virtual labs simulate the tools, equipment, tests, and procedures used in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, biology, and other disciplines.
The Objectives of Virtual Lab are
1. To provide remote-access to simulation-based Labs in various disciplines of Science and Engineering.

2. To enthuse students to conduct experiments by arousing their curiosity. This would help them in learning basic and advanced concepts through remote experimentation.

3. To provide a complete Learning Management System around the Virtual Labs where the students/ teachers can avail the various tools for learning, including additional web-resources, video-lectures, animated demonstrations and self-evaluation.

      Eligibility for Admission in CSE

      The Applicant must be a permanent resident of J&K State as defined in Section-6 of the Constitution of the J&K.

      Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized statutory Board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and with at least 50% marks for Open Merit Category candidates including the Children of Defense Personnel, Children of Para Military Force, Children of State Police Personnel and candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in sports and 40% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Other Socially and Educationally Backward classes.

      Must be at least 17 years old on 31st December of the relevant year 2019.

      The candidates appearing/who have appeared in the 12th Class examination (Annual Session 2019) can also appear in the BOPEE test provisionally. However, they shall be required to produce the marks card of the said examination in support of having qualified the examination at the time of declaration of the result/counseling as may be notified by the Board.
