Department of Mechanical Engineering, Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) conducted an industrial visit of 8th semester students, at Kashmir Chemicals Pvt ltd and Pari packaging, IGC Phase-I Samba.
During the visit, the students were briefed by Mr.Aman, about the functioning of the plant. The students were briefed about the various processes that are used for making pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides & fertilizers. These are manufactured by chemical reaction of two or more raw material in presence of solvent, catalysts and acidic or basic reagents followed by fractionation, separation, drying and packaging. The students came across the assembly line adopted during the course of manufacturing of raw material to finished product. Storage tanks (Formulator and separator), grinders, conveyors, and other material handling devices were also explained to the students in details.
The second visit of the day was arranged in Pari packaging that has made a name for itself in the list of top leading manufacturer and supplier of packaging material, plastic containers and caps. The students were briefed by Mr. Monish Singhal about the various machines used in making packaging material. The students were explained injection blow molding machine used in making plastic bottles and caps of various sizes.
The industrial visit was an amazing experience, provided the right exposure and proved to be a definite value addition in their professional knowledge. Industrial visit to an organization of repute is must for practical insight and understanding with regard to the functioning of an industrial unit viz; Production, Operation and Management for getting corporate exposure. The management of JGEI congratulated the department for such initiative and urged that such visit should be a continuous practice.
