IECS was established in 1995. The Polytechnic is approved by AICTE, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India and recognised by J&K Government. It is also affiliated to the J&K State Board of Technical Education for conducting 3- year full time diploma course in following branches: Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
