Electrical Engineering Department of Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with Institutions Innovation Council ( IIC ), a MHRD Initiative, Govt of India organizes four days Online Faculty Development Programme on “Clean and Sustainable Energy” from 25thJune to 28thJune, 2020. Clean and Sustainable Energy sources and technologies have potential to provide solutions to the long-standing energy problems being faced by developing country like India. India is increasingly adopting responsible renewable energy techniques and taking positive steps towards carbon emissions, cleaning the air and ensuring a more sustainable future. Today, renewable energy sources account for about 33% of India’s primary energy consumption’s.
The main aim of this FDP is to provide a unique opportunity to demonstrate the contributions of different engineering and basic science disciplines to the area of energy sustainability in our nation. The distinguished resource persons are Dr. Parveen Kumar Lehna, Ph.D. (IIT Bombay), Prof. and HOD of Electronics, University of Jammu, Dr. A. Nazar Ali, Associate Prof., Deptt. of Electrical & Electronics, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai, Dr. Yatheshth Anand, Asstt. Prof., School of Energy Management, SMVDU University, Katra , Shafqat Nabi Mughal, HOD Electrical Engineering, SOET, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, J&K. Lectures on the fields like Fuel Cell, Solar Energy, Wind Energy and Solar Connected Grid System will be delivered.
In this FDP more than 300 faculty members across the country e.g. J&K, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, U.P., West Bengal, Punjab, Orissa, Rajasthan, Bihar etc. registered. This programme provides a platform to an in-depth discussion on the various challenges and possible remedies which will benefit and bring a positive transformation among the faculty members towards research work and enable the participants to develop competence in understanding recent advances in clean and sustainable energy systems. E-Certificates will be distributed to the participants.
The FDP started with the welcome address by Er. Dinesh Gupta, HOD Electrical Engineering Department. The introductory talk was given by Er. Loveneesh Talwar, Coordinator. Prof. ( Dr. ) A. K. Srivastava, Director YCET addressed faculty members and resource persons and stressed that these FDPs in lockdown period will help faculty members to move forward and bring lot of changes in attitudes towards teaching and faculty development. By this the approach of teaching has changed to a new paradigm, and at present it is essentially laying emphasis on stimulating inquisitiveness in the process of acquiring and assimilating new scientific knowledge and concepts. The teachers need to be updated with the pedagogy for better teaching-learning experience. Er. Robin Kumar, Coordinator gave vote of thanks.
The management of YCET thanked the resource persons and inspired the organizing team and appreciated the efforts for conducting Online Faculty Development Programmes during lockdown period.
